As time went on, the size of the force increased to have had 20 Sqns and Flights. 83 Sqn, 97 Sqn and 697 Sqn were loaned back
to 5 Group in 1944 for independent operations carried out by 5 Group (possibly low level marking for 617 and 9 Sqn's dropping the Tallboy and Grandslam bombs).
End of the War
With the end of the war, The PathFinder Force was stood down on the 15th December 1945
